Rocking Dads – Dads Childbirth Classes is a course that takes fathers to be or brushing up fathers through the journey of understanding pregnancy, stages of labor, birth plan, breastfeeding, and much more!
Brian has been working one on one or in large groups of men for the past 10 years.
Through his experience as a Doula, Birth Mentor, Lactation Counselor, and Labor Assistant, he has found that men are very willing and ready to learn how to become amazing birth partners and Rocking Dads. The factor that keeps them from digging in, is usually not having the proper forum of a safe place.
There are many things men would like to ask or talk about that they are not comfortable to do in front of their partners.
I see so much excitement in expecting fathers as they learn how to build their team and look at their own strengths and weaknesses to see how they can be most effective throughout pregnancy, labor and delivery, and postpartum.
The most exciting thing to me is when we join with their partners for Facilitating Fearless Birth, and they are so prepared and have taken such diligent notes, that their partners are like “who is this guy”. That is when I know we are ready to work on preparing their team for childbirth.
As the father of Eva (10) and Daisy (6), Brian the birth Guy is no stranger to this world of babies and parenting. Both of Brian’s daughters were born by emergency cesarian delivery. Brian assisted his first birth at 19 years old and knew this was his calling.
Brian holds a degree in radiology, studied biology and chemistry with an emphasis in pathophysiology and owns BabyVision Ultrasound, San Antonio’s leader in 3D and 4D pre-natal imaging ultrasound.
Having worked with over 19,000 expectant families, Brian has taught many childbirth classes and currently teaches the incredibly popular Dad’s childbirth class “Rocking Dads” and couples birth class “Facilitating Fearless Birth”.
Due to his love of birth and babies, he proudly entered childbirth education as trained doula and San Antonio’s only actively practicing male doula (or “Dude-La” Brian says, being a surfer from California). Brian and the girls live with their domestic partner Alejandra Rodriguez.
